It’s Okay to Be Scared of Dentistry

First of all, if you avoid dental visits because the whole idea scares you, you aren’t alone. Dental fear and the more intense version, dental phobia, are very real issues for many people. As a sedation dentist in the Scranton and Wilkes Barre area, I appreciate and respect your feelings, and I want to help you, like I’ve helped many other people, get through the fear so that you can enjoy optimal oral health and a strong, beautiful smile.

I want you to think about how a good dental visit would play out.

What would the dentist look like? What would he or she say and do to make you feel comfortable? What things would the dentist avoid to ease your fears?

Just think about these things. You can take your time.

I’m Dr. James DeFinnis. Feel free to email me or call my office, Back Mountain Dental in Trucksville, PA, at 570.763.4360, and I’ll answer all of your questions. We can discuss why you believe you have dental fear, and the best ways to make you feel comfortable and confident at my office. My staff and I are trained and experienced in talking to people with dental fear. We have genuine compassion for your situation. In addition, I offer IV sedation, so your comfort level can be maintained and monitored throughout all procedures.

I understand how you feel. Let’s talk.
