Big Cases, One Dental Visit, No Fear

One of the best things about IV sedation is that I can complete long, complex dental procedures or multiple procedures in a single visit. I’m Dr. James DeFinnis of Back Mountain Dental in Trucksville, PA. I’ve helped a great number of fearful, stressed, and anxious patients reinvigorate their health and smile with sedation dentistry.

It’s not unusual for someone who fears the dentist to avoid dental care for years. The longer one goes without addressing dental problems, the worse the problems become. It’s an obvious statement, but our permanent teeth don’t grow back (like nails and hair). Once you lose a tooth, it’s gone for good. Along this same thread, dental decay, cracks, and chips won’t heal naturally (like skin can). When you need dental work, nothing else will suffice.

Sedation patients often come to me with severe dental problems because of non-treatment through the years. Their fear is exacerbated because they know that they need significant dental work that could send them to the dental chair for hours and hours, and possibly for a chain of visits.

IV sedation allows me to address severe dental problems, often in one visit. When I schedule a sedation patient, I clear off my calendar. It’s all about getting my patient’s needs taken care of as completely as possible in one session. To ensure that I have sufficient time set aside, I only book one sedation case in a day. With IV sedation, I can accomplish multiple procedures, like replacing teeth, placing crowns and fillings, completing grafting procedures, and securing dentures, in a single dental visit. During the procedures, my patient remains sedated, enjoying complete peace of mind and body.

If you’ve postponed dental work because of fear, and now your mouth is in desperate need of serious dental treatment, call or email me, Dr. James DeFinnis, to discuss your situation. I provide IV sedation dentistry for patients from Wilkes Barre, Scranton, and across the state of Pennsylvania, and I’d like to help you enjoy a great smile for the rest of your life.
